As if Tesco did not have enough problems to handle, there is now found itself in some hot water when using the financial ombudsman after leaving a flood victim high and dry for upwards of 24 months. Helen Gorrill, whose house in Cumbria was flooded next year, says she and her son are already expected to survive on friends’ sofas after Tesco’s financial services arm did “everything possible” to prevent paying her insurance claim
