Insurance industry faces scrutiny over possible indirect racial bias
Regulators will be to look into the insurance sell for potential racial bias and discrimination across the data that companies use to put their prices.
The Financial Conduct Authority said that while it had found no proof “direct discrimination”, insurers were using information into their pricing models that could implicitly or potentially explicitly correspond with race or ethnicity, there would have been a “risk of discriminating against consumers”.
Announcing a study with the
